Our Commitment to Privacy
Welcome to Spoken! At Spoken, your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what type of information we collect from you when you interact with the Spoken mobile app and what we do with that information to allow you to make choices about the way your information is collected and used. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, so please check it often.
What Information Do We Collect?
We collect personally identifiable information from you when you register for a Spoken account via the app, sign up in the app, and use the app. The personal information that we will collect from you is your first and last names, your email address, and your phone number. We will collect personally identifiable information from you only if you voluntarily submit the information to us.
We may also collect anonymous information that cannot be connected to the identity of a specific individual. This anonymous information may include technical information about the way you may visit the app or statistical information such as recording the number of visits to the app. We use this anonymous information to measure the use of the app and to improve its content and performance. The information that is automatically submitted to us by your computer or phone device, operating system, or internet service provider is considered anonymous information. To the extent we share such information with third parties, it is not traceable to any particular user and will not be used to contact you.
How Do We Use Information We Collect?
We collect personally identifiable information for providing the services of sending and receiving prayer messages. This includes using your personally identifiable information to identify your account, signing in, and for any communication initiated by you via the “Support” function within the app. We may also use your personally identifiable information, including your email and phone number for statistical studies, conducting marketing research, improving products and services, sending you surveys, and notifying you of new products and any other changes to our site or services that may affect you. When you submit personally identifiable information to us, you understand that you are agreeing to allow us to access, store, and use that information for those purposes.
Third Parties
We use Firebase, Algolia and Twilio as third-party services to assist us with the development and maintenance of our application, and with text message delivery. We share your personally identifiable information with those named third-party service providers only for the purpose of analytics, storage, text message delivery, and maintaining and improving the function of the app.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personally identifiable information to any thirdparty outside of the Spoken app. Any information shared with third parties will be used for the purposes outlined above.
We may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personally identifiable information to the appropriate governmental authorities. If requested by law enforcement or judicial authorities, we will provide this information on receipt of the appropriate documentation. We may also release information to law enforcement agencies or other third parties if we feel it is necessary to protect the safety and welfare of our personnel or to enforce our terms of use.
Users in California
If you are a user located in California, you may hold additional data protection rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are subject to the CCPA, you may exercise your rights provided by the CCPA by contacting us at lonny@spokenprayers.com or contact the Spoken administrator using the “Support” button within the app.
Users Outside of the United States
The Spoken app is operated in the United States and intended for users located in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, you may hold additional data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are subject to the GDPR, you may exercise your data protection rights by contacting us at lonny@spokenprayers.com or contact the Spoken administrator using the “Support” button within the app.
Privacy of Individuals Under the Age of 16
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from children under the age of sixteen (16) or knowingly allow individuals under the age of sixteen (16) to sign up for the Spoken app. If you are an individual under the age of sixteen (16) years of age, you are not permitted to use the Spoken app and you should not send any personally identifiable information about yourself to us through the app. In the event that we become aware that we have collected personally identifiable information from any child under the age of sixteen (16), we will permanently dispose of that information as quickly as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child under the age of sixteen (16) has provided us with personally identifiable information, please contact us immediately at lonny@spokenprayers.com or contact the Spoken administrator using the “Support” button within the app.
Data Retention and Opt-Out Policy
We will retain your personally identifiable information within the Firebase database in perpetuity unless you request that your data is deleted. To request deletion of your data, we ask that you contact us. You may request the permanent removal of your personally identifiable information from our Firebase database by sending us an email addressed to lonny@spokenprayers.com or by emailing the Spoken administrator using the “Support” button. Please indicate in the subject line “Request for Deletion.”
Security
We operate secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary, and only authorized individuals have access to the personally identifiable information provided by our users. We do not, however, guarantee that unauthorized, inadvertent disclosure will never occur.
Revisions to this Privacy Policy
We have the right to update this policy at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Privacy Policy and your use of the Spoken app indicates your agreement to the Privacy Policy at the time of use. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this Privacy Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.
